We've added the ability to initiate a call through your cell phone (without using a soft phone or LTE service) from your office number, we call this a "Quick Call".
A quick call can be made to any of your devices not just your cell phone.
A quick call establishes a call first from the VentureTel PBX to your device (cell phone, desk phone, soft phone, etc), and then once answered and confirmed on the selected device, a call is initiated to the other party and the call is bridged. With this method you can shield your personal cell phone number and call using your office number without worrying about the complexities and challenges of a softphone app over your mobile device network.
The call made to your device (ie, cell phone or desk phone, etc) will show the caller ID of the party you are calling, and then when the call is initiated to the other party, they will see the caller ID of your office, just as if you were calling from the office.
Making the Call
There are two methods to initiate a quick call - one requires you to enter the number you wish to dial, the second option dials the number associated with the selected conversation.
Enter the Number Method
- Click Call button on the bottom of the screen
- Enter the number you want to call, and select the device to call from, and hit "Start Call"
You should next receive a call on the selected device, answer and then enter one on your phones key pad to accept and initiate the call to the other party. The call will be initiated to the other party.
Selected Conversation Method
- From the conversations list, click the three dots to open the menu.
- From the menu select "Call"
- Select the device to call from, and hit "Start Call"
You should next receive a call on the selected device, answer and then enter one on your phones key pad to accept and initiate the call to the other party. The call will be initiated to the other party.
